Trailerama: The Parking Lot Movie

A parking lot doesn’t seem like a promising idea for a documentary. Then again, did a car wash seem like a promising idea for a riotous urban musical comedy? Exactly. Filmmakers Meghan Eckman and Christopher Hlad set up at a parking lot in Charlottesville, Virginia. Through its Italian-American owner, they get a lesson in the economics of parking. Through the parking attendants, we get a microcosm of American life. No sniggering at the back, please. Screening at the 2010 SXSW Film Festival.
