After “Empire State of Mind” has played and NYC views flash by for a third of this trailer’s length, we learn that marriage to Mr. Big and the digital intermediate has done wonders of Carrie’s skin. And er, that’s it. Like a Louis Vuitton bag in a shop window, the content takes second place to an image sold of attractive people, attractive locations, and flirtatious social interactions, all given maximum “wow” factor by DP John Thomas (Whit Stillman’s Barcelona(!)). Too bad we’re hooked on this kind of stuff. Written and directed by Michael Patrick King, who vulgarized the first installment to the tune of a $146 million BO take.
