“The biggest misconception about the White Stripes,” says Jack White in this documentary, “is that everything we do is premeditated.” Well, not everything. Regardless of whether you think Jack is an Ernest Blofeld-style schemer or simply the spirit of the Delta relocated to Detroit, his two-piece kick up quite a fuss and look great doing it. This tourfilm was filmed during a Canadian tour that culminated in a tenth anniversary show in Nova Scotia. That White-White chemistry is there in buckets and we all know what Francois Truffaut said about the visual appearl of the color red. But please, more music, less “cute” interaction with senior citizens. Directed by Emmett Malloy.
