Tribeca Trailers: From Entre Nos to Midgets vs. Mascots

The second in our intermittent series of trailers from the Tribeca Film Festival. In the current load, a Colombian woman walks New York’s mean streets, Danes take a fistful of Prozac, Soderbergh takes on sex, Argentine women go outlaw, a babysitter takes a bad call, the British make fun of Americans (and themselves), Spencer Tracy argues for the monkeys, Eric Bana goes all J.G. Ballard on us, and there’s a lot of midget-on-Mr. Met violence.

Entre Nos (Gloria La Morte and Paola Mendoza, 2009)

An immigrant mother must look after her children in the big city when dad runs out on the family.

Fear Me Not (Kristian Levring, 2008)

In a Danish spin on Bigger Than Life, a man persists in taking a dangerous antidepressant even after its clinical trial is abandoned.

Fish Child (Lucia Puenzo, 2009)

A woman and her maid decide to pull a Thelma & Louise, but can’t find a convenient Grand Canyon in Argentina.

The Girlfriend Experience (Steven Soderbergh, 2009)

The House of the Devil (Ti West, 2009)

In the Loop (Armando Iannuci, 2008)

British satire decides that these Americans are a funny lot.

Inherit the Wind (Stanley Kramer, 1960)

A restored version of Kramer’s noted tub-thumper, with Spencer Tracy burning up the screen as Clarence Darrow.

Love the Beast (Eric Bana, 2008)

In his directorial debut, Eric Bana hopes you find his cars as sexy as he does.

Midgets vs. Mascots (Ron Carlson, 2008)

What could be better in these uncertain times than some good old fashioned laughing at the little people?
